एगो सयं पच्चणुहोइ दुक्खं
Sorrow is the sure result of one’s mistakes, which everyone has to suffer. No one else can share this; whether he be the closest friend, relative or family member. Who is not an Ascetic?
अच्छंदा जे न भुंजंति, न से चाइ त्ति वुच्चई
They cannot be called ascetics who cannot enjoy because of dependence
I am different
ए खलु कामभोगा, ओ अहमसि
Sense gratification is different, I am different
I am alone
एगे अहमसि, न मे अत्थि कोई,
न वाऽहमवि कस्स वि
न वाऽहमवि कस्स वि
I am alone, no body is mine and I also do not belong to anyone
How do you like killing ?
पाणवहो चंडो रुद्दो, खुद्दो, अणारियो,
निग्धिणो, निसंसो, महब्भभओ
निग्धिणो, निसंसो, महब्भभओ
Killing is inhuman, horrible, mean, uncivilized, merciless, cruel, and brutal
Infatuation only is accumulation
मुच्छा परिग्गहो वुत्तो
Infatuation only is called accumulation (parigraha)
Criticizer wanders
जो परिभवइ परं जणं,
संसारे परिवत्तई महं
संसारे परिवत्तई महं
One who criticizes, wanders in the world
Speak not harshly
नो वयणं फरूसं वइज्जा
Speech is of two kinds – harsh and mild. In angry and cruel mood, it is crude; and mild when one is humble and quiet. Speech of kindness, compassion, sympathy, love, relations, affection, and deceit is mild. Against this, speech of cruelty, aversion, anger, haughtiness is discordant.
