Mother and God may be addresses as thou but all the rest must be addressed as Sir or Madam. These words convey regard. Sense gratification
कामेसु गिद्धा निचयं करेन्ति
Man of sense gratification hinds karma
Do not get stuck in the mire
महयं पलिगोव जाणिया, जा वि य वंदणपूयणा इहं
Respect and regard in the world must be considered as great mire
In the other world
इहलोगे सुचिण्णा कम्मा परलोगे
सुहफल विवाग संजुत्ता भवन्ति
सुहफल विवाग संजुत्ता भवन्ति
Good work done here yields happiness in the other world
Command of the truth
सच्चस्स आणाए उवट्ठिए मेहावी मारं तरइ
The intelligent who obeys the command of truth, he is able to swim over the waves of death
Benefits of forgiving
खमावणयाएणं पल्हायणभावं जणयइ
Happiness emerges out of forgiving
Wealth cannot protect an unvigilant man
वित्तेण ताणं न लभे पमत्ते,
इमम्मि लोए अदु वा परत्था
इमम्मि लोए अदु वा परत्था
Through wealth an unvigilant man cannot protect himself, either in this world or another
Respected disciple
जो छंदमाराहयइ स पुज्जो
One who understands and obeys the signs is respected
Speak not, if asked not
अपुच्छिओ न भासेज्जा, भासमाणस्स अन्तरा
Without permission, one should not speak in between
Work on time
काले कालं समायरे
At proper time, appropriate work must be done
