Where is the man in this world who is not distressed? Everyone suffers with some pain or another. Pain of birth, old age and death are certain for everyone; but apart from this sickness, sorrow, separation, insult, hurt, jealousy, abuse, ugliness, bad odor, tasteless food, rough touch, bondage, poverty, reproach, scolding, running here and there etc., are hundreds of pain through which men are continuously distressed, experiencing uneasiness and restlessness. Anger demolishes love
Try to understand
संबुज्झह, किं न बुज्झह?
संबोही खलु पेच्च दुल्लहा
संबोही खलु पेच्च दुल्लहा
Understand ! Why do you not understand? Alter the death acquisition of right knowledge is rare
Do not loose temper
अणुसासिओ न कुप्पिज्ज
Discipline should not make you angry
Profit and Loss
लाभुत्ति न मज्जिज्जा, अलाभुत्ति न सोइज्जा
One should not be ecstatic at profit and sad at loss
Restraint and Happiness
अप्पं दंतो सुही होई,
अस्सिं लोए परत्थ य
अस्सिं लोए परत्थ य
One who controls self; he only gets happiness in this world and the next
Body renunciation
वोसिरे सव्वसो कायं, न मे देहे परीसहा
I renounce love of body completely; there is nothing like body hardships
Neither language, nor intellect
न चित्ता तायए भासा
कुओ विज्जाणुसासणं
कुओ विज्जाणुसासणं
Ornamental languages can also not shield (one with misconduct from his lowly birth) then what can be said about intelligence
Loss of beauty
वण्णं जरा हरइ नरस्स रायं
O king! Old age destroys man’s beauty
