Who is free ?
विमुत्ता हु ते जणा, जे जणा पारगामिणो
Those who have crossed desires, they only are truly free
Desire for desires
कामी कामे न कामए, लद्धे वा वि अलद्ध कण्हुइ
Looking for gratification, an aspirant should not desire for fulfillment of desires. He should think of them as unavailable even if they were available, and neglect those, which are available.
Four sons
चत्तारि सुता-अतिजाते,
अणुजाते, अवजाते, कुलिंगाले
अणुजाते, अवजाते, कुलिंगाले
Sons are of four kinds — atijata, anujata, avajata and kulangara
Speak not laughingly
न हासमाणो वि गिरं वएज्जा
One should nor speak laughingly
Neither bonded, nor free
कुसले पुण नो बद्धे, नो मुत्ते
Wise man is neither bonded nor free

इत्थ मोहे पुणो पुणो सा,
नो हव्वाए नो पाराए
नो हव्वाए नो पाराए
Attached person neither lives here, nor there
Quantity of food intake
माइ असणपाणस्स
Know the quantity of food intake
High and low caste
से असइं उच्चागोए, असइं नीआगोए,
नो हीणे नो इहरित्ते
नो हीणे नो इहरित्ते
Many a time, man has taken birth in high caste and low caste; but this does not make him great or low
Liberation (moksha) and freedom (nirvana)
अगुणिस्स नत्थि मोक्खो,
नत्थि अमोक्खस्स निव्वाणं
नत्थि अमोक्खस्स निव्वाणं
Moksha is not attained in absence of attributes and freedom is not attained in absence of moksha
