Unvigilant is afraid everywhere; vigilant is not afraid anywhere
Vigilant or Unvigilant
Who is fearful? One who breaks the rules, makes mistakes, commits crime, he is only afraid of all. जं छं तं न वत्तव्वं
Keep away from misconduct
कुसीलवड्ढणं ठाणं, दूरओ परिवज्जए
All causes promoting misconduct must be avoided
Neither love, nor hate
सव्वं जगं तु समयाणुपेही,
पियमप्पियं कस्स वि नो करेज्जा
पियमप्पियं कस्स वि नो करेज्जा
One who sees the entire world with equanimity, he neither favors nor disfavors anyone
Maharshi and restraint
अणुए नावणए महेसी,
न यावि पूयं, गरिहं च संजए
न यावि पूयं, गरिहं च संजए
One who does not get conceited even when venerated and does not feel low when censured; he is restraint, maharshi
Doubt not
वितिगिच्छासमावेणं अप्पाणेणं
नो लहइ समाहिं
नो लहइ समाहिं
Doubtful can never get liberated
Do not talk ill behind someone’s back
पिट्ठिमंसं न खाएज्जा
One should not talk ill of others in their absence
Causes of violence
कुद्धा हणंति, लुद्धा हणंति, मुद्धा हणंति
Angry, greedy and the attached commit violence
Association with the sadhu
कुज्जा साहूहिं संथवं
Contacts must be maintained with the Sadhus

आतुरा परितावेंति
Impatient gives sorrow
