Faith is rare

If one were to have faith on the religion then without even thinking of selfishness he can perform his duties. However, how can one cultivate such faith? What should be one’s conduct?

Some people believe this to be traditional. They say, ‘We believe in this because it is written in the scriptures or our elders also believed similarly’. This basis of faith is not right. You may get deceived. Man may be deprived of truth.

Other basis is – discretion. Discretion is the decision to decide what is good and what is bad. Discretion leads one to believe in the right and disbelieve in the wrong. Thus, the faith based on discretion will be very stable, permanent and real.

We believe a friend or a principle only when we know them rightly. This applies even to religion. Until we realize this, faith on that would be rare.
