वेया अहीया न भवन्ति ताणं
Study of vedas cannot protect
Penance is difficult
असिधारागमणं चेव, दुक्करं चरिउं तवो
Penance is as difficult as walking on the edge of a sword.
Restrain the taste
अप्पपिण्डासि पाणासि अप्पं भासेज्ज सुव्वए
Well-vowed aspirant should take less food, water and speak less
Greed destroys all
लोहो सव्वविणासणो
Greed destroys all
Sinful Sadhu
सुच्चा पिच्चा सुहं सुवइ पावसमणे त्ति वुच्चइ
One who sleeps after eating and drinking is called a sinful Sadhu
Attachment of the un-restraints
मोहं जंति नरा असंवुडा
Un-restraints are attached
Free from bondage
एस वीरे पसंसिए, जे बद्धे पडिमोयए
That brave one only becomes praiseworthy who liberates the bonded
Doer-enjoyer
अप्पा कत्ता विकत्ता य, दुहाण या सुहाण च
Self only is the doer and experiencer of happiness and unhappiness
