Weapon or weaponless ?

Weapon or weaponless ?

There are weapons, which are one better than another, but there is nothing greater than weaponless ahimsa

In this world, there are many instruments of violence and they are one better than another. Sword, lance, arrow, gun, canon, bomb and atom bomb (hydrogen bomb) are progressively horrible weapons of destruction. If selfishness is not removed from the consideration of nations, then manufacture of more deadly weapons is possible in the future. World has seen the horrifying results of the world war 1914 and 1936; still the preparations of the third world war is on -what foolishness is this? Continue reading “Weapon or weaponless ?” »

Tiny thorn

Tiny thorn

A tiny thorn is picked with great difficulty

What do those people do who walk on foot on the road and if thorns were to prick them? They take them out with the help of either another thorn or a needle. Though the pain still lingers but gets subsided after sometime and after some days even the hole gets healed. Skin is covered with new skin. Continue reading “Tiny thorn” »

Neither ill treat yourself, nor others

Useless violence

Useless violence

Some people commit violence with some aim and some aimlessly

It is the habit of many people to simply uproot a plant while walking and throw that away, to pick a flower and crush that, to break the branch of the tree, keep it in their hand for sometime and then throw that away. Many ladies are such that while standing they go on scrapping the earth with their toe. Thus, purposelessly, violence is committed on the vegetables and the earth. Don’t be un-vigilant

Don’t be un vigilant

O Goutama! Don’t be un-vigilant even for a moment

Goutamaswami, who was the principal disciple of Mahavira swami, chief amongst group leaders, was advised not to be un-vigilant even for a moment while treading the path of self-progress. This inspiration given to him more than two thousand five hundred years ago is available to us even today, through the scriptures. How significant is this! Continue reading “Don’t be un-vigilant” »

Do not speak in between

Do not speak in between

When elders (gurus) are speaking, preaching, then we should not speak in between

Virtue only is a real gem, not the shining stones. For those who are more qualified than us, ‘ratna’ (gem) word is used in the scriptures. When gurus who are more qualified are speaking, discussing or preaching then it is the duty of a humble disciple that he does not speak in-between. Continue reading “Do not speak in between” »

Experience of Detachment

Experience of Detachment

One who is not greedy, his desires are eliminated and he who is desireless, his greed is eliminated

Kincana means something. The one, who understands that in this world, there is nothing that belongs to him, who thinks that when he takes birth, he never brings anything with him and after the death, nothing will go with him – all the wealth, land, home etc., will be left behind. One who knows that barring the soul every thing is perishable, momentary, one who is attached to nothing is called Akincana. Continue reading “Experience of Detachment” »
