Blessing are in abundance where elders are respected

Naresh was travelling in a crowded train. He was a humble, generous and helpful person. He saw an 85 year old man boarding the train. The man was trying to balance himself with a stick in one hand and a small bag in the other hand. He was hardly finding any place to stand in the crowd. Naresh immediately stood up and with folded hands requested the old man take his seat. The old man said, “No son. It’s a matter of Just an hour. I have some urgent work. So I have to travel alone.” Naresh said “Babuji, you are like my grandfather, I can stand”, saying this, Naresh held the old man’s hand and made him take his seat. “Where do you stay son?” asked the old man. “Right now I am posted in Mumbai. This is my address. Whenever you need me just let me know and I will be there for you.”>

After two months, one day at 9 p.m. Naresh’s doorbell rang. On opening the door Naresh saw the same old man and asked, “Whom do you want to meet Babuji?” “Son, you did not recognize me. Two months back you had offered me your seat in train. You have found a place in my heart and I want you to be a part of my family”, “Babuji, I don’t understand your words.”

“Oh son, please accept my granddaughter’s hand in marriage. I want an understanding, humble and cultured grandson like you. My granddaughter has refused to marry many rich boys who were arrogant and disrespectful to elders.” “But Babuji, you do not know any thing about my family background……………” “Son, a good family is judged not on the basis of money but selfless love. Son, good family does not mean good food and amenities but good behaviour….” “Babuji, as you wish…..” “Thanks son and congratulations. Please accept these sweets and get engaged to my granddaughter. Always keep her happy.”Naresh was happy that by helping someone selflessly he had found a life partner from a good family.
